New Member Drill, Roof Ops.
By Firefighter Mike Harris
May 30, 2010
On Wednesday May 26th, the Jr. Members of the department and members of Venture Crew 62 headed over to John Jay Middle School and started off their monthly drill by donning their gear and going over air packs. After that they practiced setting up ladders and going over knots for roof ops. They practiced the proper way to take ladders off the truck, and hoisting them up, learning many new methods. Once they climbed up to the roof, they went over knots that can be helpful in raising and lowering tools during a job.
