After a fairly quiet period, members got called out to a water condition on Salem Hill Road. The first Chiefs on scene met the homeowner, who had been away, and were shown a burst pipe from the ceiling of the first floor, that went down into the basement. With power shut off for safety, and about five feet of water to pump out, firefighters got a portable pump with a small generator, as well as a larger pump with a hard suction hose and strainer. With the water gone in about 30 minutes, firefighters checked the house for safety and were cleared from the scene in about an hour.
