After a coordinated effort between the Board of Fire Commissioners of the South Salem Fire District and the Chiefs of the Department, the new Car 2451 has been placed in service.
The new vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, was purchased off state bid and then sent out for the installation of the emergency equipment and striping. The striping was done by The Sign Shop of Brewster, NY and the installation of the lighting, radios, command box and other equipment was done by Specialty Warning Systems of Danbury, CT.
This vehicle replaced a 2002 Dodge Durango that had completed its service to the Department.
