On December 18th 2013, the South Salem and Vista Fire Departments were dispatched for a reported kitchen fire on Chapel Road. Car 2454 arrived on location and reported a mostly extinguised fire in the area of the stove with possible extension. The first due crew from South Salem opened up the wall around the stove to check for extension, while the crew from Vista checked the room above.
The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental, South Salem and Vista cleared within an hour.
