It is with profound disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of the 2020 South Salem Volunteer Fire Department Parade and Carnival. While there was much discussion among the members about how to possibly make it happen, the decision was essentially made for us by the Carnival Rides Operator. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, every carnival in the area has been cancelled, and as such, we do not have a company to provide rides/games. There is also the unknown when it comes to securing permits from the County to sell food, occupancy, distancing, disinfecting, etc.
It pains us that we will not be able to put on this community event that we know many of you from near and far look forward to. We look forward to seeing you all in 2021!
